CENTENARY PARK

The 100th anniversary of Balsas was celebrated with the inauguration of Parque Centenário, on March 22, 2018, becoming one of the main postcards in southern Maranhão. Located between Lagoa do Jardel and the Trans-Amazonian highway, the area has become a meeting, walk and leisure point for visitors and residents of the city.

There is no lack of options for those who want to enjoy the day in the Park. There are sports courts, toys for children, an outdoor gym, a running and walking track, a bike path and a skate park, as well as space for holding cultural events.

Now, if your idea is just to sit and contemplate the local nature, don't worry, as there are several rest points in the area. And, if you want, you can still choose a book from the "literary fridge" to read there.

Built within an environmental reserve with native vegetation, Parque Centenario extends over 14 hectares, half of which are a conservation area for the local ecosystem, formed by dense buritizais that guarantee a beautiful view to enjoy.

INCLUSION

Fun is for everyone. Parque Centenário has the first seesaw adapted for children and young people with special needs in the city and the State, in a public place. So everyone joins in the fun.
