Jijoca de Jericoacoara
You have just arrived in a paradise between the incredible dunes of Ceará and the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean: Jericoacoara, or Jeri, as we prefer to call it here.
Until recently, Jeri was a paradise for the few. Two decades ago, Jeri was a fishing village. Electric light only arrived in 1998 - before, it came from diesel engines. Today, it is one of the most sought after destinations in Brazil, and we explain why.
The main attraction is the natural beauty, protected by the Jericoacoara National Park, which encompasses three municipalities: Jijoca, Cruz and Camocim.
Jijoca has indigenous origins, probably the combination of two Indians: Ji and Joca, who were tribal chiefs here.

WHAT NAME IS THAT?
Jijoca has indigenous origins, probably the combination of two Indians: Ji and Joca, who were tribal chiefs here.
Jericoacoara has an even more curious history: it means "alligator sunbathing". And it makes sense. If you talk to a fisherman, he will tell you that one of the attractions, Pedra Furada, looks like an alligator's eye when seen from the sea.
BEAUTY EVERYWHERE
Wherever you look, you will be enchanted around the dunes, green fields, palm trees. Along the way, crystal clear freshwater lakes. In addition to untouched beaches, a wind that almost always refreshes the heat brought by the tropical climate. Feel and enjoy!
There are 8,800 hectares in area - which gives almost 9,000 football fields side by side!

TOP 10IN THE WORLD!
So much beauty has already made Jeri one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world by the international press.
In addition, the infrastructure for visitors is great: in addition to the accommodation network, cute souvenirs, bars of all kinds, local dishes and international cuisine. At night, it's almost impossible not to hear the forró.
It also has a special touch: the welcoming way of welcoming new arrivals! May Jericoacoara or Jeri be marked in your heart with great memories! The great tour!
