Igreja Nossa Senhora do Rosário de Fátima
The Church that is right in front of you is one of the most striking buildings in Jijoca, where nature reigns supreme. The church is one, but there are three names: Our Lady of Fátima, of Consolação or of the Rosary of Fátima.
The all-stone look draws attention. There is no other building like it in the city. It is not that old: it was built in 1945 and has an important detail: built with the hands of dozens of residents.

STONES CAME FROM MORRO DO SERROTE
They removed the reddish stones from Morro do Serrote. At the time, the area was not a National Park. That's why the extraction took place.
Until then, participating in a Christian celebration required getting on the back of a donkey, cart or walking to a neighboring community because there was no church. The same, of course, was true for baptisms, weddings...
During the year, some celebrations stand out: Coronation of Mary (May), festivities of the Patroness (October) and Missa do Galo no Natal (December).
Every Sunday at 16:00 there is Holy Mass. But the curious thing is that people from all over the world have already come to fulfill their dream of getting married in Jeri.
LIVING DETAILS
Get closer and see the detail of the mortar. The silence will probably only be interrupted by the chirping of the birds that nest in some of the many holes that exist in the external walls of the structure. Enjoy this moment.
In the surroundings, stop to see life happening. It is not difficult to see a donkey strolling peacefully, crossing the path with a buggy or an ATV. It is worth remembering that, until a few years ago, animals were the main "means of transport" here.
Inside, the altar and decoration are simple. The number of doors and fans is proportional to the temperature: heat is routine for those who walk around Jeri.
