Pedra Furada

If you were looking for images of Jeri before coming here, Pedra Furada certainly appeared among the first results. And it's no accident: this huge arch, carved over thousands of years by the action of the waves, is the most visited place.

It is right in the rocky area of Jeri, with a formidable sunset, surrounded by the saw and the sea, which changes color every moment.

Walking from Jericoacoara beach, it takes 30 to 40 minutes - about 4km away from the main beach. Take it easy, observing the groups of rocks and discovering the natural pools that form.

ATTENTION TO THE TIDE

But be careful: always be aware of the tide, which needs to be low for you to reach the shore. If it's high, the option is the Serrote path, where you'll find another sign like this one.

On your tour, ask for the turtle and alligator stones. There is more: Poço da Princesa, Buraco do Ananias and the Cave, which are extra attractions of this route. Here, it's also worth taking a dip at Malhada beach! Feel the experience!

2 KM EXTENT

This rocky region extends for about 2 km and goes all the way to Frade beach. Some visitors even confuse the two places.

If you arrived in July, the spectacle is even more beautiful. At this time of year, the sun sets just behind the rock. Contemplate, but have patience and empathy with the hundreds of onlookers who will try to take the same photos as you and at the same time.

PHOTO TIP

Instead of climbing the Pedra Furada itself, climb a small one, 1m high, which is at the back. Depending on the angle of the photo, it looks like you are on top of the monument. For this, leave the camera almost on the sand. Or ask for help from one of the many guides that are always around.
