Serrote
Most of Jeri is flat or covered by dunes. For this reason, Morro do Serrote, with its greener vegetation, is also a landmark for the community. Whoever reaches the top is faced with a large natural 360-degree viewpoint: it is perfect to see the sunrise and sunset and the moon rise in the sky.
The walk is smooth. The sandy soil also gives way to lawns and shrubby vegetation. On the way, it will not be difficult to at least hear caracaras, species of hawks in the region. The cacti, also called mandacaru, are spread throughout the region. Donkeys and goats roam freely.
98 METERS HEIGHT
The maximum altitude is 98 meters - it would give a building of about 30 floors. Conserved, Serrote protects the village of Jericoacoara from the winds and sands of the dunes, without it the village would be covered by dunes.
As it is in a conservation area, within the Jericoacoara National Park there are some restrictions on access to Serrote. The main one is motorized transport. You can reach the top on foot (about 20min) in a quiet walk (you can do everything in flip-flops) or by buggy.
There is no lack of options that even shorten the path of about 2 km between the beginning of the Morro and Pedra Furada, one of the most visited tourist spots.

LIGHTHOUSE
From here came rocks that were used in the construction of the Church, another tourist spot that you can visit. Conserved, Serrote protects the village of Jericoacoara from the winds and sands of the dunes. The walk is a challenge and an excellent exercise, in addition to providing an unforgettable view.
Not far away is the Jeri Lighthouse, the structure is simple but the history is old: the lighthouse was built at the end of the 19th century, shortly after the community was elevated to the category of village. Around this time, Jijoca began to receive immigrants fleeing the drought and the end of the leather economy.
