Igreja Evangélica de Confissão Luterana

The Lutheran Church is one of the oldest religious temples in the city, with its cornerstone laid in 1862, envisioned by Pastor George Gottlob Ströele. Initially, it was just a house with a sculpture of a chalice and bread on the external wall. The law prohibiting non-Catholic temples from having "church" characteristics was repealed in 1903, allowing the construction of the tower and the addition of neo-Gothic decorative elements, such as pointed arches and gargoyles. The tower houses the mechanical clock and the original bronze bells.

In 1916, a German Walker pipe organ was installed in the church, enhancing the musical experience during services and religious events. This historic organ still enriches the liturgy and celebrations at the Lutheran Church of Petrópolis. The Evangelical Church of Lutheran Confession in Petrópolis has been keeping German traditions alive in the city and preserving the cultural heritage of its founders.
