Santos Dumont's house was designed by the inventor himself, with unique and innovative features that reflect his genius and creativity. The architectural project for the chalet in the style of a French Alpine lodge was authored by Eduardo Pederneiras. "A Encantada" has three floors that housed a workshop, living room, bedroom, and bathroom, showcasing Dumont's ingenuity in every detail. Interestingly, the house did not have a kitchen, as Dumont's meals were brought from the Palace Hotel, a building located in front, which currently houses the Catholic University of Petrópolis.

The house features a unique architectural style, with steps shaped like a racket and other details that make it a special and captivating place. In 1936, the house, furniture, and inventor's belongings were donated by the family to the Municipality of Petrópolis. It was designated a historic landmark in 1952 and converted into a museum in 1956. During the visit, one can explore the rooms of the house, learn about some peculiarities of Santos Dumont, and admire a collection of personal items, photographs, documents, and even replicas of some of his inventions.

The Santos Dumont House Museum not only celebrates the achievements of the Father of Aviation in the field of aeronautics but also highlights his contributions in other areas, such as automotive and technology.

Take the opportunity to appreciate a bit of the history and brilliance of this great Brazilian.
