The Royal Road, an ancient historical route that connected the gold mines to the port in Rio de Janeiro, passed through the Secretário region, which is now filled with delicacies such as cheeses, sweets, preserves, beers, mushrooms, breads, and beautiful handmade items for good shopping. Not to mention the restaurants, immersed in nature and with mouth-watering dishes.

The institute offers courses, workshops, and events covering topics such as agroecology, traditional cuisine, handicrafts, music, and environmental education for the local population. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover and appreciate the flavors of Brazilian rural cuisine, with dishes prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. They will also experience up close the cultural traditions of the region, learn about sustainable cultivation techniques, local handicraft production, and traditional rural practices, as well as explore the locations where courses are held for residents.
